Poetry on the Square with the Port Warwick Art & Sculpture Festival!

Come along and write on an ekphrastic voyage as we explore the Port Warwick Art & Sculpture Festival with Poetry on the Square! This month, we'll be doing something a little different and going on a poetry field trip to practice ekphrasis (vivid description of scenes or works of art). We will be gathering at Discover Teas Port Warwick at 4:00pm, where workshop leader local poet/author Jill Winkowski will be giving some tips and instruction before leading the group out into the Square at 4:10 to look around for a half hour or so. After we return, Jill will get us started on writing some poetry about the artworks that we've seen. Then we'll get to share our work at our open round-robin reading until 6! You can read one of the pieces from the ekphrastic field trip, or bring something more polished if you like. Notepads and cameras/cameraphones are highly suggested!
Whether you are a published author, a new writer, or just someone who appreciates listening to live poetry, you are welcome at Poetry on the Square! Join us every 2nd Saturday from 4pm-6pm and share your favorite works, or enjoy the poetry, for free. There's nothing like a cup of tea and some awesome poetry in good company.
