Blooms That Brighten ChariTEAS Announcement
James City County, January 2nd, 2013
Discover Teas, a local tea market and lounge, has created a special blend of loose-leaf tea called Blooms That Brighten to help raise money for the similarly named organization. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the special blend is donated back to Blooms That Brighten.
Blooms That Brighten is a Williamsburg, VA based 501(c)3 organization, dedicated to providing fresh flowers, free of charge, to residents in continuing care communities and Hospice House, lifting spirits and brightening days. A number of studies have shown the positive health effects resulting from the presence of fresh flowers.
Chris Farishon, owner of Discover Teas, created the Blooms That Brighten blend with the organization in mind and it includes strong notes of different floral teas. “It’s a green and black tea mix with rose, jasmine and lavender.” Farishon said, “I like to call it a bouquet in a cup!” They were able to raise $100 for the organization in 2012, but would like to increase that in 2013 by raising awareness about the blend in the community.
The special tea is available at Discover Teas’ location in Williamsburg in the Village Shops at Kingsmill, at their location in Newport News in Port Warwick and at their online store at www.discoverteas.com.
Discover Teas was founded in 2011 by Chris Farishon. Discover Teas offers a relaxing environment for loose-leaf tea, tea education and a blend-your-own tea bar at both of its locations in addition to operating an online store.
